Having a baby changes everything. Becoming a parent changes who we are.

Imagine having the tools to handle the changes that come with parenthood and knowing that your relationship is up for the challenge of bringing a baby home.

Bringing Baby Home Workshop

The Bringing Baby Home workshop is an evidence-based curriculum from The Gottman Institute. This workshop prepares couples for life with a baby and helps them to become the best team possible.

Parents learn to strengthen their relationship and also learn skills to foster their baby’s development. When babies grow up with parents who are a team and nurture each other, they are more likely to cry less and smile more!

The Bringing Baby Home Workshop is for couples who are currently expecting a child or are parenting a child under the age of 3.

This workshop will help you and your partner feel more connected, more loved, and less stress. You will move through the next stage of your life and experience this transition feeling supported and prepared in your relationship.

This workshop is based on over 40 years of research from The Gottman Institute.

Benefits for children:

  • Parents pay better attention during play
  • Stronger language skills
  • Smile and laugh more during family play at 3 and 12 months of age

Benefits for couples:

  • Couples report being more satisfied in their relationship and were more likely to stay together
  • Couples feel more prepared to bring their baby home
  • Couples are more able to work together in play and parenting
  • Higher partner involvement and more secure partner-infant attachment

Learn ways to:

  • Keep your relationship a priority and strengthen communication and connection
  • Set your family up for healthy bonding long after birth
  • New ways to communicate with love and respect, even when stressed

What can I expect?

This is a 12-hour workshop offered over the course of a few days. You will learn evidence-based tools and get a chance to practice them during our time together. You will get the chance to ask questions and learn of further opportunities to seek support if necessary.

Our workshops are currently being offered virtually, with plans to have in-person workshops at one of our community partners.
